ORGANIZATION FOR A COMMUNITY

The economic development office of a mid-sized metro area had operated under the same identity for many years. When new leadership came in, they recognized some ambiguity in their public message, as well as their actual purpose. They were faced with the challenge of branding themselves and building credibility in their community. When they came to Rukkus, we were able to help them define their role and craft a message to convey that identity to the public, but there was more to it than that. We were actually able to help create an organization — from its foundation — that was tailored to the current economic needs of the community.

A DIRECTION TO ACHIEVE

The organization itself needed clarification of its own purpose and how to accomplish it. Without a clear identity and direction, they remained a largely untapped resource that most community members weren’t even aware of. Through strategic study and specific direction, we worked together to establish who they were and how they should function to help the community achieve the economic development they were after.

This organization now operates with transparency and collaboration. With our help, local influencers continue to learn how they can best work together to change the way business leaders and residents think about economic development. Strategic outreach initiatives, including a revamped economic summit, give businesses and residents a chance to align themselves with the efforts of the Economic Development Office. Those efforts continue to foster economic development based on promising innovations and careers that attract and retain quality people and businesses.
